The DFS Advisory Council operates in conjunction with the Department of Family Services (Wyoming Statute 9-2-2106). Its mission is to provide program support, guidance, advocacy, feedback and act as a liaison to the department, functions which are guided by the department’s own mission statement. Most members are appointed by the Governor to serve three-year terms. The Senate President and Speaker of the House each appoint one member from the legislative body.

PUBLIC NOTICE FOR THE PROPOSED ANNUAL SOCIAL SERVICES BLOCK GRANT PLAN OF THE SOCIAL
SERVICES DIVISION WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY SERVICES
Public notice is hereby given that the Wyoming Department of Family Services intends to act on the Annual Social Services Block Grant Plan. A copy is available at the address below, from the county offices of the Department or can be downloaded here. This plan describes the social services made available through the Department for the federal fiscal year beginning October 1, 2024.
Every year since 1975, the Department has published a proposed plan for social services offered to communities. This proposed plan is for public view and comment. Comments will be reviewed and incorporated into the final version which will serve as the operational plan for FFY2025. Written comments may be submitted to the following address by August 21st, 2024:
