 Federal Notice for SNAP Food Restrictions Waiver Public Comments

The SNAP waiver is an application to the USDA asking that Wyoming can make these changes to the SNAP program: Beginning in February 2027, SNAP benefits in Wyoming will no longer be used to purchase sweetened, carbonated beverages. Candy purchases will be limited beginning in February 2028.

Title:  Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Multiple States SNAP Demonstration Project
Action:  Notice of Request for Public Comments
Summary:  This notice invites the public to comment on the Multiple States’ demonstration projects authorized under section 17(b) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, 7 U.S.C. 2026(b). The Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) will take appropriate action as necessary in response to comments.

DFS to hold virtual town halls on Draft LIEAP State Plan

[Sept. 17, 2026] The Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS) will host two Virtual Town Halls to gather public comment on the draft State Plan for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) for the 2026–2027 heating season. The draft LIEAP State Plan is available for public review. PROPOSED ANNUAL SOCIAL SERVICES BLOCK GRANT PLAN OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY SERVICES

Public notice is hereby given that the Wyoming Department of Family Services intends to act on the Annual Social Services Block Grant Plan. A copy of the Annual Social Services Block Grant Plan is available at this link or from the county offices of the Department. This plan describes the social services made available through the Department for the federal fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026.

DFS Advisory Council

The DFS Advisory Council operates in conjunction with the Department of Family Services (Wyoming Statute 9-2-2106). Its mission is to provide program support, guidance, advocacy, feedback and act as a liaison to the department, functions which are guided by the department’s own mission statement. Most members are appointed by the Governor to serve three-year terms. The Senate President and Speaker of the House each appoint one member from the legislative body.
