Sign Language Interpreting Services

Through a contract with Partners Interpreting LLC (PI), State of Wyoming agencies have access to American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services. Services will be available as funds allow.

Every Wyoming Resident deserves to fully understand and take part in the services State agencies provide. For many people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind, a qualified sign language interpreter is what makes that possible.

When to request an interpreter:

  • Client appointments and interviews
  • Case and family team meetings
  • Hearings and administrative proceedings
  • Public meetings and community events
  • Staff trainings and onboarding
  • Employee meetings and HR conversations
  • Outreach and educational programs

Services available:

Onsite interpreting: A qualified interpreter attends in person at your office, hearing room, or event location. Onsite interpreter availability varies across Wyoming. (When an onsite interpreter is not available for your date and location, a virtual option may be available so your meeting can still go forward)

Prescheduled virtual interpreting: A qualified interpreter joins your meeting by video on Google Meets, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or a similar platform at a scheduled time.

Getting started:

Agencies should submit their requests as far in advance as possible, especially for onsite assignments, to give coordinators the best opportunity to secure qualified interpreters. A minimum of two weeks’ advance notice is preferred for all service requests.

Meet with the Partners Interpreting contact. If your agency has not used the service before, reach out to T.J. DiGrazia to set up a brief introductory meeting to walk through how the service works, get your agency set up, and learn about the needs you expect to have.

Request interpreters. Once your agency is set up, send interpreter requests to Partners Interpreting’s scheduling team. Requesting as early as possible, especially for onsite interpreting, gives PI the best chance to find the right interpreter for you.
