ECARES

What is ECARES?

The Department of Family Services is developing a new and fully integrated Early Childcare Access Resources and Eligibility System (ECARES). ECARES will improve the experience for childcare providers and families in Wyoming. The new system will enhance access for families by offering streamlined services and improved functionality. This will include better resources for families and providers, advanced search tools, mobile compatibility, automation, and support for training and development. The system is set to go live in late 2024!

How will parents and families benefit from ECARES?

ECARES will provide these great features for parents and all of those seeking child care supports and services:

  • Online Application: Apply for or renew Child Care Assistance through the online portal.
  • Check Eligibility: See if you qualify for assistance and any support that may be available.
  • Find Childcare Providers: Connect with local childcare providers that fit your family’s needs.
  • Access Other Programs: Find other support programs in Wyoming.
How will childcare providers benefit from ECARES?

ECARES will provide Wyoming child care providers with these key features:

  • Provider Portal – A seamless, digital experience where providers can manage child care enrollment for families receiving Child Care Assistance, incident reporting, payments, licensing requirements, and more.
  • Advanced Search Tools – Search functionality that will allow families to find services available through the State’s childcare marketplace.
  • Mobile Access – Enhanced user access by providing online and mobile-friendly functionality.
  • Improved Workforce Training and Development Functionality – Providers will have the ability to identify, track, and access professional training and development opportunities all in one place.
  • Better Automation – Users will be provided automated eligibility determinations, payment processing functions, and case management tools.
  • System Integration – Current credentials such as Fingerprinting and Central Registry will be brought together in one efficient location.
